Manager of Student Accounts

The Manager of Student Accounts manages all aspects of the Landmark College student billing system (accounts receivable), helping to insure the fiscal integrity of the College. The Manager of Student Accounts maintains billing accounts for all students including deposits and tuition and fee charges and credits to student accounts including disbursement of financial aid and cash payments and electronic payment receipts, as well as management of the College-wide debit card system. Student account statements are prepared and distributed electronically on schedule, approved by the College Controller. The Manager of Student Accounts works closely with the Controller to cross-check and correctly categorize disbursed financial aid in collaboration with staff of the Financial Aid Office. The Manager of Student Accounts conducts analyses for Administration & Finance staff, prepares for the annual financial audit and Uniform Guidance audit, and, with other Administration & Finance staff, and participates in planning and managing the workflow of the department.

This position requires a minimum of 5 years of increasing professional responsibility, experience, and best practice of specific administrative and accounting skills necessary for the performance of this job. Strong work experience and knowledge of non-profit and educational business practices. Strong analytical skills demonstrated both in thinking, problem solving, and the use of computerized spreadsheet reporting techniques. Strong conceptual and applied knowledge of computerized database programs for financial operations. Excellent organizational skills, including planning, work scheduling and task completion. Ability to work independently, supervise and direct the work of others, and to exercise sound professional judgment. Ability to communicate effectively, both speaking and in writing, and the ability to interpret and explain financial information to students and family members. Ability to effectively communicate with Landmark College faculty and staff. Ability to manage sensitive and confidential data in situations involving plans or interactions with students, parents, colleagues, and those outside the Landmark College community.
