Director of Student Involvement & Leadership Development

Landmark College invites applications for the role of Director of Student Involvement & Leadership Development. This pivotal position offers a unique opportunity to shape the student experience by fostering a vibrant community of engagement, leadership, and development among our neurodiverse learners and college-aged young adults. This full-time, on-campus role requires a visionary leader who can strategically enhance student life and create inclusive, dynamic programming that complements the academic landscape of the college.

Responsibilities:
As the Director, you will report directly to the Dean of Students and Director of Student Engagement and oversee the development and implementation of a comprehensive programmatic curriculum aimed at enhancing student engagement. Key responsibilities include:

  • Planning and executing major campus events such as Fall Fest, Winter Carnival, and Spring Fling, alongside orientation and family weekend activities.
  • Leading the coordination of a robust campus-wide programming calendar, ensuring active student engagement throughout weekdays, weekends, and holiday periods.
  • Developing and managing policies and procedures for student events and organizations, including advising and supporting student-led initiatives.
  • Overseeing the general management of student centers and facilities, ensuring they serve as welcoming hubs of student activity.
  • Organizing off-campus trips to enrich the student experience through exposure to cultural, educational, and recreational activities in the New England region.
  • Driving the development and implementation of a student leadership framework that aligns with the college's mission, incorporating best practices in leadership theory and development.

Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will possess:

  • A minimum of a Bachelor's degree; a Master's degree in Student Personnel, Counseling, Higher Education, or a related area is preferred.
  • At least three years of related experience in student activities within a higher education setting, with a proven track record in program planning and event management. Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills, with the ability to engage effectively with students, faculty, and staff across various departments. A strong understanding of the needs and interests of a neurodivergent student population, with a commitment to fostering an inclusive community.
  • Flexibility to work non-traditional hours, including evenings and weekends, as required by student activities and college events.

Work Environment:
This position is based in a vibrant campus setting, with general office conditions and occasional requirements for outdoor and off-campus activities. Some travel may be required, along with the capability to handle physical aspects such as walking, standing, and light lifting as part of event management.
