Tempelhof and the Olympic Stadium Visits

Everyone is starting to feel like their jet lag is waning and their excitement over being here growing, as the first waves of unfamiliarity and exhaustion subside.  Yesterday, we all walked to Tempelhof, the old German airfield with untold layers of history, and were led on a tour.

Today, we visited the Olympic Stadium, the site of the 1936 Olympics, successfully navigating over 20 stops on the U Bahn with a switch to another line! The weather has been perfect and we all were led on a tour by an historian, who led us on an interesting tour. Many of the students have a strong grasp of the history and were moved at being there in a place they had only read about.
