Arrived in St. Croix!
We had an extremely early start this morning—meeting time at 3:30 a.m. at our hotel near Bradley Airport, in time for our 5:50 a.m. flight! Flights went smoothly and we arrived at our hotel in Frederiksted, St. Croix around 4 p.m. We checked out the neighborhood and then folks who wanted to swim got to take our first dip in the Caribbean!
Tomorrow we head up to visit an organic farm; first we'll do a workshop on making calabash bowls, a traditional craft, and in the afternoon we'll volunteer to help the farm with some planting and weeding. Tomorrow evening we will have a very exciting adventure: kayaking among bioluminescent plankton in Salt River Bay.
