Final Day in Quebec

On Thursday, July 27, students had until 1:30 p.m. to hand in their final projects, then we took the public bus into the Old City for a final afternoon of shopping and relaxing. We walked the narrow, cobblestone streets filled with shops and artists:

We spotted several temporary art displays in the city, including many pairs of eyes (part of an exhibit called "Big Other" by Quebecois artists Pierre & Marie, photo credit Owen Karr) and a large display of metallic lines and circles that line up if you stand in just the right spot ("Double Interlaced Concentric Circles" by Swiss artist Felice Varini). Both of these are part of a summer installation called "Passages Insolites".

We enjoyed a delicious dinner as a group to celebrate a successful week. To cap it off, we rode the funicular up the hillside to the top of the Old City for spectacular views! (Including more googly eyes...can you spot them?) Photo credits: restaurant, our waitress; funicular, Ethan Lofgren; view, Owain Lucas. All other photos by me, Jess Lindoerfer.

The day was a perfect way to cap off our fantastic week in Quebec City! Thanks to all the students for making it an excellent experience all around.
