Making Doughnuts in Tema’s Kitchen

Most of Sunday was devoted to getting ready to participate in homestays. After class, Joyce Leiton, Program Director met with students to talk about their upcoming homestay experience. She provided each student with information about their host family. She gave everyone a very thorough overview about what to expect, and answered questions about whatever students wanted to know.  After lunch students split up into groups and visited homes to take part in a cooking lesson. In addition to learning how to cook something, it offered students a chance to spend an afternoon in a local home similar to the one they would be visiting for the homestay. Caroline, Anna, Cael, Megan, and Annie all visited with Tema and learned to cook doughnuts. Afterwards everyone ate doughnuts and hung out with the cat and dogs in the back yard. It was a great warm up for the homestay.
