Found the Rhinos

Today, August 7th, we conducted strip transects where we counted how many animal’s species there were in Orapa game Park. We saw rhinos, impala, giraffes, zebras, and Oryx. Later in the day we had a rhino conservation discussion with Erik. He then took us out around two o’ clock to Orapa Game Park where we found rhinos at a watering hole. We got the experience to see the process of a rhino being tagged so they could keep track of the rhino, so they could be identifiable. We then went on a game drive at the end to celebrate our last night in Orapa when we arrived back to camp we had a braii as a community celebration which was prepared by the lodge staff. We also celebrated Erik’s birthday along with Chris' whose birthday is August 8th and had cake.  Submitted by Ethan Meeder
