Community Service Day in San Luis
Friday was our day of community service. After breakfast all the students reported to the Asociacion de Desarrollo San Luis (Community Development Association of San Luis) for a day of service to the town that is hosting us. San Luis is fortunate to have a beautiful and modern community center. We split into three teams to do our work.
Three students worked in the library. They shelved books and checked on the filing system, and generally got things in order.
Another group worked to clean all the windows and walls of the community building...
...and a third team worked as laborers for a mason who was building a walkway to connect the main building to a small dining room.
A few of the women who work at the center prepared an excellent lunch for us. After enjoying our mid-day casados we returned to work for the afternoon. The students all proved to be hard workers, and put in a full day community service.
