Behind the Scenes at the Day-to-day of Study Abroad

A lot of study abroad blog posts focus on the extraordinary aspects of study abroad...the scenic, photo-grabbing, outings.  But there's lots of day-to-day living and studying behind and between those outings. This blog post is meant to capture a few of the often overlooked aspects of study abroad.

This is the lodge where students have been living for the 2nd and 3rd week of the New Zealand program. This group's ability to work, study, and play together has been remarkable.

Ok...so they don't keep the collective kitchen as clean as one might hope, but they are cooking up some great meals.

And what does a group of study abroad students do on a rainy Sunday in New Zealand? Cheer the New Zealand women's rugby team (the Black Ferns) on to a World Cup win or play monopoly, of course!

Classes, studying and academic support take up quite a bit of time as students learn about and integrate new concepts into their experiences.

And then there's always grocery shopping.  But the walk home from the local super market sure doesn't look like Putney!
