Pond Hockey

Pond Hockey

Frigid temperatures, snow, and ice are staples of winter in New England. While some people prefer to sit inside by the warmth of a cozy fire or vacation to faraway tropical beaches during the season's coldest, darkest months, others embrace Vermont winters with open hearts and layers of warm clothing. Landmark students organized pond hockey.

With the help of a few borrowed shovels, motivated students scraped snow off of a small frozen pond on campus. They set a date and spread the word, and soon their pond hockey dream was realized. Students brought their own skates, borrowed from a small collection of donated items, or ran on the ice in boots, and used hockey equipment from our recreation supplies to enjoy some good old fashioned Vermont winter fun.
