Wow! The first few weeks of the Fall 2017 semester have flown by! In addition to our cross country team and soccer team starting their seasons, we opened our much anticipated brand new turf field.
Landmark College's Board of Trustees joined us for a ribbon cutting ceremony on the Charles Drake Field on September 1st, followed by a pre-season soccer matchup vs the local Putney adult team. The field, which is a NCAA regulation sized soccer field and also lined for lacrosse, features an eco-friendly coconut husk based infield fill and is open for use by Putney residents and members of the surrounding community.
On September 9th, our cross country team participated in the Baconfest Hog Jog 5K in Guilford. Landmark runner Charlie Frost finished 2nd out of 77 runners!
Then just two days later, our soccer team celebrated its first win against the Greenwood School! The Sharks will face off against Simon's Rock in their first college team meet of the season this Sunday on the Charles Drake Field.
The cross country team's next competition is Finn's Fun Run, a 2.3 mile road race that has become a staple feature of our fall Family Weekend and Alumni Homecoming, on September 23rd. Entry for the Fun Run is free and parents, family, friends, alumni, faculty, staff, and local community members are all welcome to join us. Register online or between 8am-9am on race day. The race starts at 9am.
