Yesterday we took a train to Sachsenhausen Concentration Camp, which was one of the first camps created under the Nazi regime. It was a sobering, long, and hot day, beginning with the fact that our train traced the route to the camp from Berlin that untold thousands took to their deaths.
After some technical and weather related glitches, we are back!

We visited several sites in our own neighborhood today, visiting two local markets and a local mosque. In the afternoon several of us cooled off in a brand-new municipal infinity pool on the shores of the Saint Lawrence.
