Landmark College Post-Graduate Assistantship Program (PGAP)

The Post-Graduate Assistantship Program (PGAP) offers recent Landmark College (LC) graduates a strategic way to gain practical field experience, deepen career understanding, and network with employees in a field of interest. These assistantships will help facilitate their transition into careers outside of Landmark College. Therefore, these positions will only provide short-term employment (not to exceed one year). Employment may be for an academic year, a calendar year or for either a fall or spring semester. 

Criteria: Eligible candidates have earned a degree from Landmark College within the past several years. Candidates have demonstrated the professional skills necessary to enter the workforce. It is also expected that candidates are recognized as good community members.

Framework: Employment opportunities offered through PGAP are part-time, non-benefited positions. Students are not guaranteed an assistantship as part of their student experience at LC. PGAP employees have the same rights and responsibilities as other part-time/short-term employees of the College.

The program's key element will include an employee support circle designed to make explicit the various forms of support necessary to onboard and transition new neurodivergent graduate hires. Members of the circle provide work-related information and support to new hires as they transition into their new roles. Members of the circle could be, but not limited to, the supervisor, Human Resources, and the Office of Alumni Relations, as well as fellow alumni in full-time staff positions.

Open Positions

  • The Office of Marketing & Communications is seeking a graduate to assist with videography, video editing, and project management of video production; social media; graphic design; website updates; and various other duties.

    Positions Open: 1
    Days and Times Needed: Hours 30 hrs/wk. Some nights and weekends may be required. 
    Dress Requirements: Business casual

    Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Conceptualize and create videos for external marketing and internal, student-focused, purposes.
    • Increase video editing skills by learning software and music acquisition and editing to create video content for internal and external purposes.
    • Greater oversight of project management and creation of a production schedule of video content.
    • Assist with content creation and calendars for Landmark College’s social media feeds.
    • Participation in special projects that might include research to support Marketing & Communications initiatives, including clerical and database work, website support, interviewing, and writing.

    Preferred Qualifications and Application Requirements:

    Requirements:

    • A bachelor’s degree from Landmark College.
    • A GPA of 3.0 or higher
    • Experience and comfort with videography and video editing.
    • Experience and comfort with social media; some platforms may require user to have a personal account (all posting will be done on LC accounts)

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Comfortable with cold emails and calls to LC community and others.
    • Ability to travel when and if necessary.

  • Social Pragmatics is seeking an assistantship position to provide support for PEERS® instruction on-campus, on-line, and with the LC Success Center and with related-activities and events that supports the student experience in social pragmatics. 

    Department: Social Pragmatics
    Supervisor: Mickey Cronin, Director of Social Pragmatic Programs and Support
    Positions Open: 1
    Days and Times Needed: Hours 30 hrs/wk during the fall semester 2024 and the spring semester 2025. This will include weekend and evening hours. Tuesday through Friday 10 a.m. – 2 p.m., Wednesday and Thursday evenings, Saturday afternoons.
    Dress Requirements: Business casual

    Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Assist certified PEERS® instructors in the presentation of the PEERS® curriculum for on-line, on-campus, and LC Success Center courses.
    • Training and mentoring selected PEERS® graduates in supporting PEERS® sessions.
    • Assist with activities on and off campus, including workshops, social events, and campus open houses.
    • Provided one-to-one and group support as assigned.
    • Attend social pragmatics staff meetings.
    • Collaborate with Social Pragmatics team members as well as all other college personnel.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology or Communications (COMEL)
    • Familiarity with the PEERS® curriculum
    • Ability to present professionally in an on-line format
    • Strong interpersonal skills and willingness to learn.

    Learning Objectives/Opportunities For Student:

  • The Office of Student Activities is seeking a highly motivated and organized individual to join our team. This position plays a crucial role in supporting the planning, coordination, and execution of a wide range of student programs and activities. The Student Activities Assistant will work closely with the Student Activities team to provide administrative support, assist in event management, advise student leaders, supervise student employees, and contribute to the overall success of the office.

    Duties and Responsibilities:

    Administrative Support:

    • Assist with maintaining program budgets, expense tracking, and financial documentation.
    • Prepare and distribute promotional materials, including flyers, posters, digital content, and regular calendar updates.
    • Maintain accurate records, databases, and contact lists of student organizations, participants, and program evaluations.
    • Coordinate scheduling, room reservations, and logistics for events and meetings.
    • Respond to inquiries and provide information to students, staff, and faculty regarding student programs and activities.
    • Track and report attendance and participation at events and programs.

    Event Coordination:

    • Assist in the planning and execution of various student programs and activities, including but not limited to social events, workshops, conferences, and performances.
    • Collaborate with student organizations and other campus departments to coordinate logistics, secure resources, and ensure smooth event operations.
    • Help set up and dismantle event spaces, arrange equipment, and oversee technical requirements.
    • Monitor and supervise events to ensure compliance with policies, safety guidelines, and proper conduct.

    Communication and Collaboration:

    • Maintain effective communication channels with student organizations, campus departments, and external vendors to facilitate program coordination.
    • Collaborate with the Student Activities team to generate new ideas and develop innovative programs that meet the diverse interests and needs of students.
    • Actively participate in meetings, team discussions, and training sessions to contribute insights and share progress updates.
    • Foster positive relationships with students, providing guidance and support to promote their involvement in activities and initiatives.

    Student Leadership Development:

    • Assist in the development and implementation of leadership training programs and workshops for student organization leaders.
    • Encourage student participation and engagement in leadership development initiatives to foster personal and professional growth.

    Advising of Student Leaders:

    • Serve as an advisor and mentor to student leaders of various student organizations.
    • Provide guidance and support in the development and execution of their organization's goals, programs, and initiatives.
    • Assist student leaders in navigating administrative processes, including budgeting, event planning, and campus policies.
    • Foster a positive and inclusive environment that encourages student leadership, collaboration, and personal growth.
    • Conduct regular check-ins and meetings with student leaders to provide feedback, assess progress, and address any concerns or challenges.

    Supervision of Student Employees:

    • Assist with the recruitment, hiring, training, and scheduling of student employees within the Office of Student Activities.
    • Provide supervision, mentorship, and performance feedback to student employees to ensure their professional development and success.
    • Assign tasks and projects to student employees, delegating responsibilities effectively and providing necessary resources.
    • Coordinate work assignments and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines and ensure smooth office operations.
    • Foster a positive work environment, promoting teamwork, communication, and a strong work ethic among student employees.

    Essential Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., higher education, student affairs, communications) preferred.
    • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
    • Proficiency in using office software and technology platforms, including word processing, spreadsheets, and presentation software.
    • Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
    • Demonstrated ability to work independently, take initiative, and solve problems.
    • Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as needed to support program activities and events.

  • The Drake Center seeks an assistantship position to cover the front desk reception needs and provide quality customer service. The candidate will assist with administrative tasks in the Drake Center and will care for the center by cleaning, organizing/updating materials, and taking on projects and tasks as need arises. 

    Department: Drake Center
    Days and Times Needed: Sunday-Thursday afternoons and evenings, Friday flex hours for documentation and development/organization of materials
    Dress Requirements: Casual
     

    Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Cover the front desk, greet students in the center, and check students into appointments
    • Manage the Drake Center email inbox into the evening
    • Answer student and staff questions/concerns in the Drake Center
    • Assist students as they book appointments Manage emergent day-of staff needs
    • Develop and organize documentation and materials
    • Manage appointments (e.g., scheduling, cancellations, etc.)
    • Answer the phone
    • Follow cleaning protocols
    • Work on small admin projects
    • Data entry
    • Assist with administrative tasks (writing, flyers, data)
    • Organize and supplement resource materials and inventory Assist with workshops, group studies, etc.
    • Create inventory of supplies, materials
    • Create and conduct surveys
    • Create materials (e.g., flyers, social media) to promote Drake Center services

  • The BAIA Program seeks a post graduate assistantship for a Landmark BAIA or BASA Graduate in Academic Year 24-25. In this position the assistant will provide support with general upkeep of Fablab and other Integrated Arts labs and studio art spaces, as well as maintenance of equipment, machinery, devices, and tools. In addition, the assistant will provide support and sometimes supervision for students during afternoon and evening open hours in studio spaces enrolled in fine and performing arts courses. The assistant will be asked to fill in as needed in various other ways that will support arts education and the BAIA program. Training will be provided to fill in knowledge and skills gaps.

    Supervisor: Meg Baronian, Associate Professor; Chair, Department of Fine and Performing Arts
    Positions Open: 1
    Days and Times Needed: Monday-Friday, hours to be determined, some evenings, occasional weekend work, twenty to thirty hours a week total.
    Dress Requirements: Casual

    Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Support student learning of course material during evening open hours
    • Supervise student use of Fablab equipment and tools
    • Follow cleaning protocols for studio and lab spaces
    • Follow maintenance protocols for equipment, devices, tools and machinery
    • Work on small BAIA program projects as needed
    • Assist with inventory of supplies and material
    • Assist with other tasks aligned with interests and program need

    Essential Qualifications:

    • Landmark BAIA or BASA degree
    • Good interpersonal skills
    • Ability to follow instructions and work independently
    • Organizational skills
    • Ability to do hands on work
    • Ability to troubleshoot technical issues
    • Strong desire to learn

    • Gain experience with all aspects of studio arts program space upkeep and tool, equipment, machinery and device maintenance

  • The Center for Neurodiversity is seeking an academic year Center for Neurodiversity Coordinator (CNC) to help expand programmatic offerings and coordinate thought leadership activities.

    Under the supervision of the Co-Director of the Center for Neurodiversity (Student Affairs), the CNC is charged with coordinating day-to-day operations of the Landmark College Center for Neurodiversity. Greater opportunities for students to make use of the Center for Neurodiversity space is desired in the 2024-2025 academic year. The CNC will regularly staff the Center’s offices and work to encourage students to use the space.

    Department: Landmark College Center for Neurodiversity
    Supervisor: Nicole Pacenka, Resident Dean and Associate Director of Residence Life
    Positions Open: 1
    Days and Times Needed: This is a 10-month, academic year position beginning August 19, 2024 and ending June 20, 2024. Hours 35 hrs/wk (usually Noon to 6 p.m.). Occasional night and weekend work required.
    Dress Requirements: Work casual

    Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Manage the operations of the Center for Neurodiversity suite
    • Develop, execute, and assess neurodiversity/disability programming for undergraduate students.
    • Support John Elder Robison during on-campus visits.
    • Assist Co-Directors with thought leadership initiatives.
    • Attend all staff, division, and Steering Committee meetings.
    • Assist with support and oversite of Center interns. Complete other duties as assigned.

    Preferred Qualifications and Application Requirements:

    Physical Requirements: 

    Work at a computer for hours at a time. Traverse campus to attend meetings and programs. May need to lift up to 20 lbs. of materials. (Accommodations are available).
