Sherry Sherman and Jeff Raz

Left to right: father Jeff Raz, student Micah Sherman Raz, mother Sherry Sherman "We want other students who may not have the resources to attend Landmark, to have the opportunity Micah did to be part of this amazing community."

My husband Jeff and I are rejoicing about our son Micah earning his B.A. in Communication and Entrepreneurial Leadership. While that feeling of accomplishment is still in our hearts and minds, we want to take a moment to ask you to join us in supporting that journey for future students.

Micah’s Landmark College experience was incredible. Sure, it helped him with things like study skills and executive function; more importantly, it helped him learn about himself. While Micah was always kind and always a deep thinker, the people and opportunities at Landmark helped him feel more solid and really come into himself.

One of those opportunities was an internship with the local police department. The College didn’t offer one; and for that matter, the police department had never had an intern from any school. But they all worked together to make it happen. Micah’s Capstone Project was about public services in rural communities and now, back home in California, he is studying to take his test to be a certified EMT, partly because of that experience!

Landmark is a caring and inclusive community that provides permission and encouragement for students to ask for what they want and need – while at the same time challenges them academically, vocationally, and personally. It takes resources to make this happen. That is why our family is making a gift to the Landmark College Annual Fund in honor of the Spring 2021 Class.

We want other students who may not have the resources to attend Landmark, to have the opportunity Micah did to be part of this amazing community - to learn, grow, and find their true selves. We hope you will join us in paying it forward.

Sincerely,

Sherry Sherman, Ph.D. and Jeff Raz
