New degree completion option with Castleton University

Landmark College and Castleton University have formed a collaborative agreement creating a pathway for completion of baccalaureate degrees not currently offered at Landmark College.

The agreement guarantees admission to all Landmark College students who graduate with an associate degree and who have achieved a 3.0 grade point average. Qualifying students will also receive the Castleton Maple Award, which reduces out-of-state tuition to Vermont resident tuition pricing.

Dr. Gail Gibson Sheffield, Vice President of Academic Affairs at Landmark College, said developing articulation agreements like this most recent one with Castleton offers its students more choices when seeking a bachelor’s degree.

“Many of our students come to Landmark College without intending to earn a degree, but rather to strengthen their abilities to meet college expectations and unlock their potential. Once they arrive, they often want to stay and complete their associate degree,” says Gibson Sheffield. “This agreement with Castleton strengthens our message that the courses students take here will be accepted at other institutions.”

Landmark College began offering baccalaureate degrees in 2012, and currently offers bachelor of arts degrees in liberal studies, psychology, and studio art, as well as a bachelor of science in computer science.

The program went into effect immediately, with Castleton University already accepting applications from Landmark College students graduating in Spring 2018.

Castleton University is part of the Vermont State Colleges system. It offers undergraduate and graduate level programs, both online and at is campus in Castleton, Vermont.
