Celebrating Women’s History Month

Dear Landmark College community,

Women's History Month artwork March is recognized as Women's History Month, a time to reflect on and celebrate the accomplishments and contributions of remarkable women throughout history.

We owe much of our progress to brave, loving, independent women like Ruth Bader Ginsburg, Malala Yousafzai, Frida Kahlo, Harriet Tubman, and Gloria Steinem, among many others.  Their courage and determination serve as inspiration for all.

During this month, it is crucial to shed light on and understand the journey that has led us to where we are today.  It is essential to recognize the sacrifices made by women by speaking up and standing up for their rights, allowing us to be who we are today.

It is vital to maintain an open mind and continue fostering a diverse and inclusive community, as there is a leader in each one of us, just like the brave women who have paved the way for our success.

“If your actions create a legacy that inspires others to dream more, learn more, do more, and become more, then, you are an excellent leader.”- Dolly Parton

Remember that when we celebrate Women's History Month, we are also honoring our mothers, sisters, daughters, aunts, grandmothers, and all the other women in our lives.

I would be remiss if I did not acknowledge other celebrations that take place in March.  These include:

  • Developmental Disabilities Awareness Month
  • Greek American Heritage Month
  • Gender Equality Month
  • Irish American Heritage Month
  • Ethnic Equality Month
  • National Multiple Sclerosis Education and Awareness Month.

Thank you,
