Morgan Le Fay Center
The Morgan Le Fay Center for Advances in Economics, Business, and Entrepreneurship Instruction
The Morgan Le Fay Center For Advances in Economics, Business, and Entrepreneurship Instruction was established at Landmark College in 2014 through a generous gift from world-renowned economist Paul McCulley and the Morgan Le Fay Dreams Foundation. This founding gift supported the development and refinement of Landmark College pedagogy in the fields of business, economics, and entrepreneurship.
With the generous support of the Morgan Le Fay Foundation, Landmark College has launched several new programs that are now well imbedded in existing Landmark College programs while continuing to drive research, exploration, and innovation.
A new baccalaureate degree, a Bachelor of Arts in Communication and Entrepreneurial Leadership (BA-COMEL), was developed and first offered in 2019. The degree focuses on project management and prepares students for entry-level jobs in fields such as civic organizing, media production, public relations, management, and other positions that focus on organizational communication.
The Landmark Entrepreneurship Accelerator Program (LEAP) began in 2014 to provide students with support in developing business plans and pitching their idea for the possibility of up to $10,000 of seed funding. The response to LEAP has been tremendous and the program continues to expand and grow.
WLMC Landmark College Radio offers courses in radio production including basic DJ training, sound production, radio programming, and leadership duties to help run the daily operations of the station.
Voices Magazine is a student lead publication that works across disciplines to deliver journalism articles, creative writing, and artwork generated by Landmark College students.
The Center for Neurodiversity (CND) was established to build a larger national presence in the area of neurodiversity. John Elder Robison serves as adviser to the CND and facilitator for student community-building group.
The Employment Readiness Experience (ERE) was developed specifically for “new to workforce” students. This is a one-of-a-kind program that helps students learn professional skills while working on campus.
With support from the Morgan Le Fay Dreams Foundation, Landmark College’s Post Baccalaureate Certificate grew out of a fledgling educator training program and now more than 150 educators a year take one or more of our certificate courses.
The History of the Morgan Le Fay Center
A $1 million gift from noted economist Paul McCulley established the Morgan Le Fay Center for Advances in Economics, Business, and Entrepreneurship Instruction at Landmark College in 2014. The Center supports the development and refinement of a progressive pedagogy for Landmark College students in the fields of economics, business, and entrepreneurship, as well as research, training, and related innovations for educators in the field of learning difficulties (LD).
“This gift catalyzes our efforts to leverage the natural entrepreneurial strengths of our students, who are bright, young people with learning difficulties eager to make an impact in the world of economics, business, and entrepreneurship,” says Dr. Peter Eden, President of the College.
McCulley is a longtime philanthropist and an executive with the Pacific Investment Management Company (PIMCO), and the father of 2014 Landmark College graduate Jonathan McCulley.
“As Jonathan’s father, I have witnessed in real time the transforming power of Landmark College’s unique melding of bespoke pedagogy and community support for those with LD,” McCulley says. “Landmark College is a pillar of evidence-based innovation in instruction for students with LD, in both the classroom and in navigating life’s challenges.”
McCulley’s scholarly research has been quoted widely and was called “magisterial” by Nobel Prize-winning economist and New York Times columnist Paul Krugman.
