Landmark College Sponsors Global IDA Campaign, ‘Unlocking Dyslexia’

The International Dyslexia Association (IDA) recognized Landmark College for sponsoring IDA’s 2014 campaign “Unlocking Dyslexia: IDA Has the Key.” IDA is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to the study and treatment of dyslexia and other learning differences. With 8,000 members, IDA operates primarily in the United States and Canada with global partners in 21 countries including Brazil, Austria, India, Singapore and

The Philippines. IDA publishes the peer-reviewed journal Annals of Dyslexia, supports research, and advocates for the rights of individuals who have dyslexia.

“Landmark College is proud to contribute to Unlocking Dyslexia, a campaign with a global impact.” said Mark DiPietro, director of marketing & communications at LC. DiPietro set up the sponsorship as part of National LD Awareness Month.

“Unlocking Dyslexia” is a 2014 awareness and fundraising campaign with the goal of providing one resource handbook to every family who is challenged with dyslexia. The handbook, IDA Dyslexia Handbook: What Every Family Should Know, will contain the common signs of dyslexia as well as up-to-date information on living and learning with dyslexia in childhood through college. It is due to be distributed electronically to families all over the world on November 1, 2014. The campaign slogan, “1 Dollar. 1 Book. 1 Family” shows the impact of even a small contribution.

“There are limited resources available to families with dyslexia and other learning differences. IDA is opening the door to a better understanding of dyslexia by providing this vital resource,” said Kristen Penczek, interim executive director of IDA. “We are so thankful that Landmark College has stepped up to generously sponsor this campaign.”
