Service Road on Upper Campus closing week of October 6

The service road near the Upper Campus Commons construction site will be closed starting Monday, October 6 to prepare for the relocation of the sewer lines around the construction site. 

All foot traffic from Davis Hall and the Bridges/ Chumley will be re-routed until work is completed. The projected date for completion is Friday, October 10. (See graphics below)

Timeline for October 6 through 10

• October 6 - Prep work (layout. cut paving, and rework fencing)
• October 7 - By-pass existing sewer, install and test SMH (sewer manholes) #1 and #2. Backfill and restore area
• October 8 - Restore and open up access road to traffic (if not completed at end of day on 10/7). Temp sewer by-pass pumping will be in place, but provisions for safe access over line will be made. Access to be opened up ASAP, with gravel and asphalt patching to be reviewed after all sewer work is complete, but prior to cold weather
• October 9 - Bypass flow from existing SMH as shown. Install SMH 3 & test. Tie in existing sewer to SMH 3
• October 10 - Restore and open up access to all areas (if not completed by10/9). Access to be opened up ASAP with gravel and asphalt patching to be reviewed after all sewer work is complete but prior to cold weather
