Gabrielle Ewall has worked as a neuroscientist, educator, engineer, and now as a Research Scholar at Landmark College. Her research interests center around compensatory adaptations in neurodivergent and differently abled individuals. During her Ph.D. in neuroscience at Johns Hopkins University, Gabrielle studied how cross-talk between sensory systems supports compensatory learning following vision loss. Outside the lab, she led Project Bridge, an outreach organization comprised of hundreds of volunteers, which aims to narrow the gap between scientists and the wider Baltimore City community by hosting outreach events and fostering communication skills among scientific trainees. Gabrielle’s approach to pedagogy and outreach has been strongly influenced by her experience as a student at Olin College of Engineering, where she also developed a penchant for slideshow animations, the CMU serif font, and foam cutting machines.
