WCAX reporter Adam Sullivan visited Landmark's campus this week to report on WLMC The Finn, Landmark College's student-run radio station. Sullivan interviewed student and station leaders Owain Lucas and Catherine Brogan, as well as Communication Professor Eric Matte, who has been the faculty advisor to WLMC since its inception in 2008.
Sullivan highlighted WLMC as part of the station's coverage of LD Awareness month, which is held every October to raise awareness of learning differences. Speaking to how the station helps her to manage the challenges of her ADHD and Dyslexia diagnoses, Catherine told Sullivan that broadcasting live on the radio “really helps my mood and boosts up my spirits... and confidence."
Coverage from WCAX is just the latest recognition of WLMC. The Intercollegiate Broadcasting System, the foremost authority for college and university student media across the world, has recognized WLMC radio’s effort as an award nominee for four consecutive years in the category of “Best Streaming Only Station (Under 10,000 Students)." WLMC won the prestigious award outright in both 2022 and 2023.
