Visit to Stratford Upon Avon

Yesterday we took a day trip to Stratford Upon Avon, a market town in Warwickshire, about 100 miles north-west of London.  Stratford Upon Avon is also the birthplace and childhood home of William Shakespeare. In Stratford, numerous theater performances in honor of the famous playwright are held throughout the year at the Swan and Royal Shakespeare theaters. After exploring the town, admiring some of the Tudor architecture, and visiting the old grammar school where Shakespeare attended as a pupil, the group attended a performance of Twelfth Night at the Royal Shakespeare Theater, returning to London and the hotel in Whitechapel at around 1 a.m.
