Royal Court Theater

Our next play was performed at the Royal Court Theater in Soho Square: "A Good House," by Amy Jephta. The play is set in South Africa and explores issues of race, class, and wealth from the perspective of three couples who each aspire to improve their lives through the purchase of property in a new housing development within an ostensibly "safe" South African suburb. Each of the characters shares the experience of feeling threatened by a makeshift shack that appears on the estate; it is around this issue that the main action of the play revolves.
