Preparing to interview village residents

As a group we met the village leadership and presented the village with our gifts in the form of school supplies, health care supplies, soccer balls and frisbees which students contributed. Students then worked in groups to prepare to go into the community and ask questions of five households. Both English and Tswana are official languages in Botswana. Because the village residents speak Tswana, the students worked with interpreters to plan and conduct their interviews. After a couple hours students returned and reported having had a very rewarding experience. The data collected will be used by the students in their presentations and lab report.
