Wednesday proved to be another busy day. We started out by visiting a language school in San Jose to practice our world language skills. Landmark Students and Costa Rican students from the language school sat at tables and practiced English and Spanish for a solid hour. It was an excellent social, as well as educational, experience.

Then we were back on the bus and off to Cartago to visit La Basílica de Nuestra Señora de los Ángeles. The basilica is the spiritual center of the country. We spent some time touring the church and related sites and learning about apparitions and miracles.

After a trip to the mirador (look out point) we all got together for a traditional Tico lunch of casados, followed by flan and coffee.
