Landmark College’s internet radio and television outlets, WLMC and VoicesTV, have been nominated for six awards by the Intercollegiate Broadcasting System (IBS), an organization that supports both college and high school media outlets and organizations.

According to the IBS web site, more than 3,000 entries were submitted from 100-plus schools across the country and the globe. The winners will be announced at their annual conference, taking place in New York City on March 7-8, 2025.

WLMC nominations include the category of “Best Streaming Only Station (Under 10,000) Students)” for the fourth consecutive year. The station won the category in both 2022 and 2023.

Other nominations for WLMC include:

  • Best Documentary “The Solar Eclipse as seen at Landmark, a Total Eclipse of the Heart!” by Owain Lucas and featuring Lucy McNeil
  • Best Show Promotional Poster “Brosk! Show Poster” by Charles Karwowski
  • Best Use of Sound Effects “Halloween Trick or Treat Sweeper” By Owain Lucas and voiced By Garrett Woodburn, Fionn Tierney, Lukas Pelletier & Jack Philips
  • Best News Director, Radio -- Catherine Brogan

In addition, VoicesTV station manager Linsey Robison received a nomination in the “Best Station Manager, TV” category.

“Super exciting to be nominated for these awards, including Best Streaming under 10K for now 4 years in a row!” says WLMC Station Manager Owain Lucas. “We’ll be sending a group of students to the conference in New York City. Nominations do not automatically mean a win, but to be nominated at all places these entries in the top percentile for their categories.”
