Landmark College Launches Advocacy Toolkit

Earlier this month, Landmark College launched an Advocacy Toolkit in light of ongoing threats to higher education—and the spread of misinformation and harmful rhetoric about people who learn differently—coming from Washington, D.C.

The digital toolkit is intended to empower Landmark College community members to advocate effectively on behalf of the College's mission, as well as on behalf of the broader LD community. The web site includes a wide variety of resources, from tips on how to effectively identify and engage government representatives, to suggested talking points and key facts on a number of issues, to links out to other leading advocacy organizations for people with learning differences.

In sharing the toolkit with the campus community, Landmark College President Jim Dlugos said: "At Landmark College, we are dedicated to advancing the rights and interests of individuals with learning differences. Some of that work happens in our classrooms and research programs, but in our nation's present moment, it also means lifting up the voices of our students, alumni, and supporters across the country to ensure policymakers are responsive to those who learn differently. We hope that these tools will help Landmark College community members confidently express themselves to their government representatives."

In addition to the resources available on the Advocacy Toolkit website, Landmark College community members are invited to reach out to [email protected] for personalized support as they plan their outreach.
