The Landmark College Office of Academic Affairs has announced details for the next installment of the College’s ongoing Academic Speaker Series, taking place in February 2026.

Landmark College Assistant Professor of Life Science Eric Rhomberg will present "Journey to the Moon: The remarkable early history of human space exploration and its enduring significance" on Thursday, February 12th at 5 p.m in the Brooks O'Brien Auditorium within Lewis Academic Building.

The presentation will use archival NASA photographs to form a visual narrative of the early milestones of space exploration leading to the 1960’s Apollo program. Rhomberg will discuss the scientific and cultural impacts of this remarkable adventure story. Anticipating today’s new plans to return humans to the moon, he will consider the questions: “Why has it taken us more than 50 years to go back?” and “What is the significance of sending humans into space today?"
