2023 Fall Term Orientation

Congratulations on your decision to join the Fall incoming class here at Landmark College! The information below will serve as a helpful ongoing resource on the steps to take before your arrival, as well as information about campus life at Landmark College.

Student Orientation Overview

To support your strong connection to programming and community, the team has designed a robust orientation program for you! In the section below, “Fall 2023 Orientation Prearrival Information,” you’ll see several optional programs that will be held online over the spring and summer. You are encouraged to review the related content and attend a session to learn more about campus resources and programs and have any questions answered before your arrival. In early July, all students will also receive an invitation to complete several online, self-paced modules related to Health & Wellness that are important to complete before your arrival on campus.

Here is an overview of the on-campus orientation programming:

Fall 2023 Orientation Prearrival Information

To support your arrival to campus and connection to the community, the LC team will be offering a series of optional prearrival sessions virtually throughout the spring and summer for students and their families. Links to join these virtual events will be sent to the student’s LC email and family emails on record. Where appropriate, sessions will be recorded and made available for those who are unable to attend. Please contact Student Affairs (CampusLife@landmark.edu) if you have any questions or wish to request a copy of a recording. Our current prearrival sessions include the following:

  • Transitioning Your Medical & Mental Health Care to Landmark (open to students and families) Join Jeff Huyett, Director of Health Services, and Tori Tilson, Counselor, as they provide an important overview of medical and mental health services available at LC and important steps to take in advance of your arrival. The presenters will review the content available in this helpful resource available here.
  • Housing, Dining, and Campus Safety (open to students and families) Join members of the Residential Life, Dining, and Campus Safety teams to gain an overview of your home. Ask questions, gather invaluable insights, and gain a deeper understanding of how our outstanding housing, dining, and campus safety services will enhance your college adventure. Residential Life will review the content available here.
  • Social Pragmatics (open to parents ONLY—student sessions will begin in August as part of the Early Orientation schedule) Join Andy Donahue, Director of Social Pragmatics, and his rotating series of guest presenters, for an ongoing conversation about social pragmatics supports at LC, including the PEERS program, workshops, activities, and social coaching. For more information about Social Pragmatics programs at LC, please see the overview available here.
    • Tuesdays from 6 – 7 p.m. (June 6, June 20, July 18, August 8, and August 22)

For more information about the Transition at College program, please see the overview available here.
    • Dates and Times will be posted once finalized
  • Orientation & Arrival to Campus (open to students and families) Join LC staff for an overview of the New Student/Family Orientation on-campus programs, review of arrival to campus logistics, and have a dedicated space to have your remaining questions addressed prior before your travels to Vermont.
