2022 Fall Term Orientation

Congratulations on your decision to join the Fall incoming class here at Landmark! The information below will serve as a helpful ongoing resource on the steps to take before your arrival, as well as information about campus life at LC.

Student Orientation Overview

To support your strong connection to programming and community, the LC team has designed a robust orientation program for you! In the section below, “Fall 2022 Orientation Prearrival Information”, you’ll see several optional programs that will be held online over the spring and summer. You are encouraged to review the related content and attend a session to learn more about campus resources and programs and have any questions answered prior to your arrival. In early July, all students will also receive an invitation to complete several online, self-paced modules related to Health & Wellness that are important to complete prior to your arrival to campus.

Here is an overview of the on-campus orientation programing:

Social Pragmatics and Transition at College (TaC) Orientation

  • Wednesday, August 24 Early Orientation Arrival to Campus (By Invitation Only)
    • 9 a.m. to Noon—Registration in the Click Family Sports Center and Move-In
    • Noon to 1 p.m.—Lunch
    • 1:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m.—Welcome Meeting
    • 2:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.—Orientation and Program Review (Family)
    • 2:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.—Icebreaker Activities and Social Activities with Orientation Leaders (Students)
    • 3:30 p.m. to 5 p.m.—Social Activities for Students (Optional)
    • 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.—Welcome Dinner
    • 7 p.m. to 11 p.m.—Evening Excursions and Social Events with Orientation Leaders (Optional)

Family Orientation Overview

We recognize families play an integral part in supporting their student in having a successful experience. To support your journey, we have also designed a series of programs, which include the prearrival sessions outlined below in the “Fall 2022 Orientation Prearrival Information”, as well as dedicated sessions during the on-campus portion of our orientation program:

      • The student program is required for all new students. The family program is optional for families.

    • 4:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.—Academic Advisor Meet and Greet
    • 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m.—Welcome Dinner
    • 7 p.m.—Families depart for the evening

Fall 2022 Orientation Prearrival Information

To support your arrival to campus and connection to community, the LC team will be offering a series of optional prearrival sessions virtually throughout the spring and summer for students and their families. Links to join these virtual events will be sent to the student’s LC email and family emails on record. Where appropriate, sessions will be recorded and made available for those who are unable to attend. Please contact Dan Jenkins ( if you have any questions or wish to request a copy of a recording. Our current prearrival sessions include the following: 

  • Transitioning Your Medical & Mental Health Care to Landmark (Open to students and families) Join Jeff Huyett, Director of Health Services, as he provides an important overview of medical and mental health services available at LC and important steps to take in advance of your arrival. He’ll review the content available in this helpful resource available here.
    • Thursday, May 26 at 1 p.m. (Video)

    • Thursday, July 28 at 7 p.m.
  • Housing, Advising, and Academic Placement (Open to students and families) Join Housing, Advising, and Academic Placement team members as they present an overview of our program and hold space to answer any questions you may have. The team will be reviewing content available here.
    • Thursday, June 16 at 1 p.m. (Video)
    • Wednesday, July 20 at 1 p.m. 
  • Social Pragmatics (Open to parents ONLY—student sessions will begin in August as part of the Early Orientation schedule) Join Andy Donahue, Director of Social Pragmatics, and his rotating series of guest presenters, for an ongoing conversation about social pragmatics supports at LC, including the PEERS program, workshops, activities, and social coaching.     • Tuesdays from 6 – 7 p.m. (May 31, June 7, June 21, July 12, July 26, August 9, and August 23)
  • Orientation & Arrival to Campus (Open to students and families) Join LC staff for an overview of the New Student / Family Orientation on-campus programs, review of arrival to campus logistics, and have a dedicated space to have your remaining questions addressed prior to your travels to Vermont. 
    • Tuesday, August 2 at 1 p.m. Rescheduled for a later date
