Communications Professor Presents at International Conference
Historically, students with dyslexia have been denied access to higher-level courses because of reading and writing demands. As a result, Landmark College 
developed a literacy program called "21st Century Literacy Tools for Students with Learning Differences," designed for students with language-based learning disabilities. It integrates effective assistive technology tools with strategy and skill instruction in reading and writing in order to prepare these students to function independently in high school and college-level courses.
Liza Burns, Associate Professor of Communications at the College, recently presented at the renowned international ECIS conference on the topic, focusing on the College's Language Intensive Curriculum. The presentation was based on original works of Ms. Burns and fellow professors Jan Thompson, Lee Crocker, Meg Baronian, and Norma Willingham.
