Planes, Trains, Automobiles, and Ferries on Route to Scotland

This picture was taken during a pre-departure orientation hike in Madame Sherri Forest at the end of the spring 2019 term. It has been quite the adventure getting to the Isle of Skye this year. We journeyed with one program participant through severe thunderstorms and torrential rain on our way to the airport in Boston. Although most students arrived in Boston with sufficient time for our departure to Edinburgh, one student encountered difficulty with a connecting flight that delayed the student’s arrival in the UK by 24 hours. Once in Edinburgh, the majority of the group were able to board the bus we had chartered for the long journey to the Isle of Skye. One program leader and student will join the group later on Monday after taking a tram from Edinburgh airport to Waverly station, traveling on to Queen street station in Glasgow, journeying through the scenic Scottish highlands to the port of Mallaig, and then boarding a Ferry from the mainland to the port of Armadale, Isle of Skye.

Barring any unforeseen circumstances or natural disasters, we all expect to be under the same roof on the shores of Loch Harport, Carbost, Isle of Skye by Monday evening.
