First night on St. Thomas
After a long day of flying and hanging around in airports, we finally landed on St. Thomas and are now settling in at Tillett Gardens. It is a funky place with bunkhouse rooms, paintings on the walls, and live music in the courtyard.
We had our first group dinner at Snow White’s Restaurant, and ate some Caribbean-Style chicken, rice and fried plantains—yum! Snow White is in the picture below next to Katie.
The students are now doing their evening assignment while sitting at an outdoor table. Sam found some cats who were lounging around waiting for attention.
Tomorrow we explore Charlotte Amalie, and get ready to board the Roseway the next morning (Tuesday). Please note that students will not have their electronics while we are on the boat, and I will not be posting on this blog. They will be writing posts that will appear on the Ship’s Log on the World Ocean School website (https://worldoceanschool.org/ships-log).
