First Full Day in NL!
After a smooth journey to Amsterdam, the students did not let jet lag slow them down! Walking with our luggage from the train station, students saw their first windmill!
Wed, May 31, we settled into our beautiful historic housing (see huge building behind the students in the boat), then Liza gave a short walking tour of Leiden. See photos of the Hooglandse Kerk and students exploring one of the last "Dutch Fortresses" De Burcht. 
Afterwards, group dinner at a local pizzeria.
Today, Thursday, was the first class to get students oriented to the course with Professor Markos. In the afternoon, we had an adventurous and informative boat trip to see Leiden by water. Not to miss an opportunity for cake, we also celebrated Emma's birthday on the boat.
