Leaves—

green, medium sized, rough edges

Twigs—

somewhat thin, light brown color

Flowers—

yellow green clusters in catkins

Fruit—

tiny, winged seeds

Bark—

light dull gray color, not too rough

Natural History:

Lifespan—

about 140 years

General description—

They are shorter and don't live for that long. Its white bark is used a lot for. carving. They grow easily in colder, northern regions. This tree is not easily penetrated by water.

Natural distribution and habitat—

Native to North America.

Conservation status—

no serious threats, despite being commonly used a lot.

Uses—

Used as ornamental trees and to make wooden products.
