Science Support/Lab Manager

Landmark College is seeking a Science Support/Lab Manager.

Science Support Duties:

  • Provide drop-in and by-appointment afternoon and evening science support in the Drake Center (minimum of 20 hours per week)
  • Maintain logs and other associated paperwork as per Drake Center policies and procedures
  • Communicate with faculty trends in student needs during support sessions, such as common difficulties with particular concepts or assignments

Lab Manager Duties:

  • Prepare equipment, reagents, and physical set-up for all lab courses along with take-down and cleanup
  • Maintain MSDS files
  • Maintain a chemical and lab consumables stock inventory and communicate supply needs to faculty as needed
  • Ensure proper storage of chemicals
  • Maintain proper disposal of all toxic and biohazardous materials and maintenance of disposal records
  • Ensure OSHA regulations are being followed
  • Promote and adhere to all recognized lab safety practices and standards, including, but not limited to Green Chemistry's Twelve Principles
  • Maintain general cleanliness and neatness of all lab and prep areas
  • Maintain warranty information and maintenance information on lab equipment
  • Request work orders through college and vendors for room and equipment maintenance
  • Under the direct supervision of faculty provide lab teaching support and assistance in working with student science interns
