Campus Safety Officers perform a wide variety of college campus-related safety and security services to help foster a safe learning, living, and working environment, all while protecting campus property, maintaining order, and enforcing the policies of the College, along with federal, State, and local laws. This opening is a full-time position, operating primarily a modified second-third shift (hours 7 p.m to 7 a.m) requiring the flexibility to cover special events, and to perform overtime duties as directed.
Campus Safety personnel have excellent customer service and organizational skills, the ability to work independently and within a team, and a working knowledge of Vermont State law. This position requires a high degree of independent judgment and decision-making abilities. In addition, officers must maintain a working vehicle and mobile telephone, be licensed to drive. A minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent is required, an Associate or higher degree in criminal justice or a related field is preferred. Prior to appointment, all applicants will be expected to successfully pass a thorough background investigation.
