Student Panel: Discovering Usability Issues in our Classwork

When curriculum, instruction, and the materials of learning are not created with an eye toward universal design, usability suffers.

Two panelists will describe what they learned through a self-evaluation of their process developing a presentation for a Communication class. These students did much of their power point creation in our Universal Design and Usability Lab. They then spent time reviewing the video clips of their process with their instructor. They will discuss and demonstrate what they found.

Two panelists will describe some of the hurdles they have experienced in traditional classrooms and in their work, and how they have used assistive technology to work through barriers they encounter.

The session will include a question & answer period with the audience.
