"I want to maintain my own website" are words that small business clients frequently utter to freelancers and web development businesses. How to handle this dilemna when many of these clients also are lacking in basic computer skills? Adobe Contribute (formerly Macromedia Contribute) and open-source content management systems like Joomla are good possibilities for solving this client request. Jen will walk through positives and negatives of each type of system so that you will be better able to pick the right one for your client.
About Jen Kramer
Biographical info (let me know if this is too long): Jen Kramer, founder of Focused Consulting LLC, specializes in web site design focused on the clients' needs and spoken in language they understand. For nearly nine years, she has worked to develop sites that are functional, usable, accessible, and supportive of business and marketing goals.
Jen is a senior faculty member of the Marlboro College Graduate Center in Brattleboro, VT. She is also the Program Advisor for the Master's of Science in Information Technologies. She also teaches introductory multimedia at Champlain College.
Jen earned a BS in biology at University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and an MS in Internet Strategy Management at the Marlboro College Graduate Center. She is also a Macromedia Dreamweaver MX and a Dreamweaver MX 2004 Certified Developer.
