Phi Theta Kappa is the international honor society for two-year colleges.
The Beta Alpha Epsilon chapter of Phi Theta Kappa (the international honor society for two-year colleges) was chartered at Landmark College in 1994. Since then, we have inducted more than 200 motivated students. To be considered for membership, students must have completed a minimum of 12 credits worth of course work at Landmark and have maintained a grade point average of 3.5 or higher.
Phi Theta Kappa membership confers a lifetime honor - committing its members to the responsibilities of scholarship, leadership, service, and fellowship. Membership also provides a valuable resource for obtaining scholarships and references for future educational and professional pursuits.
Beta Alpha Epsilon highly values engagement in both the academic and service realms. Currently, Beta Alpha Epsilon is heavily engaged in a host of service activities. Recently (September 2005), the chapter participated in a hurricane relief fundraiser, and soon will be organizing Landmark's participation in the Great American Smokeout. And throughout the semester, Beta Alpha Epsilon will be organizing the telebroadcast of Satellite Seminars (discussions of contemporary social issues by prominent individuals) on campus.
Phi Theta Kappa chapter Beta Alpha Epsilon has over 25 members. The current officers are:
Jennifer Sokolower, President
Leon Rice, 1st Vice President
Peter Cherney, 2nd Vice President
Nelson Gomez, Secretary
Chris Lauher, Treasurer
GJ Mason, Officer At Large
Jennilee Smarro, Officer At Large
