Meals

Lunch in the Landmark College Dining Hall is included for all workshops. (The lunch fee for guests of participants is $8.) Dinner at the Dining Hall $10. Cash and visa/master cards accepted.

Local Accommodations

The Putney Inn
The Putney Inn is offering a special rate of $88/night for those attending the Putney Summer Institute.
(The offer is only valid for the nights of June 22-July 2, 2010 for institute attendees)
Room availability is limited, so please reserve now. The Inn is two miles from campus, and includes a Vermont breakfast and wireless internet.

We will offer a free shuttle van from the Putney Inn to Landmark College. To arrange for this service, please email your request to institute@landmark.edu by June 8th.

Driving Directions

From New York City and points South:

  1. Follow I-95 East to New Haven, Connecticut
  2. At New Haven, pick up I-91 North to New England
  3. Travel North through Massachusetts and into Vermont
  4. Follow directions below ("Once in Vermont")

The driving time from New York City is 4-1/2 hours.

From Boston and Points East:

  1. Take the Massachusetts Turnpike or Route 2 West to I91
  2. Take I-91 North to Vermont.
  3. Follow directions below ("Once in Vermont")

The driving time from Boston is 2-1/2 hours

From Albany and Points West:

  1. Take Route 7 to Vermont.
  2. At the New York and Vermont border, take Route 9 East.
  3. Follow Route 9 East to I-91 North in Brattleboro
  4. Follow directions below ("Once in Vermont")

The driving time from Albany is ~2 hours.

Once in Vermont:

  1. From I-91, take Exit #4 (Putney)
  2. Turn left off the exit ramp
  3. Proceed North on Route 5, for approximately two miles
  4. Turn right on River Road at the Landmark College sign

Travel by Air

The most convenient airport, with service by many airlines, is Bradley International Airport [BDL] near Hartford, Connecticut. Rental cars are available. The driving time from the airport is 1-1/2 hours. Thomas Transportation Inc. provides shuttle service to and from the airport. Call them at (800) 526-8143 for information about rates and schedules. They also have a website at www.thomastransportation.com

Travel by Train or Bus

The Amtrak train station in Brattleboro, Vermont is a 15-minute drive from campus.
The Greyhound - Vermont Transit Bus Depot is a 10 minute drive from campus. 802-254-6066 for ticket information.
