Landmark College's education program requires that all students in the Associate of Arts Degree Program bring a notebook computer to campus.
This computer must meet standard specifications defined by the College, including specific software. The College's Notebook Program describes these requirements in detail, and provides students with the option of acquiring their computer through our specialized purchasing program.
There are two reasons for this requirement. The first is that the notebook computer and its software are a vital tool for the first-year curriculum at Landmark College. Working in wireless networked classrooms, with a curriculum that incorporates the use of technology as a prominent feature, requires the use of notebooks that meet certain technical specifications.
The second, related, reason is our conviction that through application and practice in the initial stages of the curriculum, students will adapt to using their notebooks as a vital learning tool, for incorporating organizational skills, processing information, and production of written work and other forms of presentation.
In the contemporary world, information technology is inescapable. For students at Landmark College, it is a vital tool for success, both here, and in the future.
