We at Landmark College have been deeply moved by the tragedy unfolding on the Gulf Coast of Louisiana and Mississippi. As the premier post-secondary program for students with learning disabilities, including ADHD, everyone in our community feels instinctively moved to do whatever we can to aid in the relief efforts currently underway. Our student government is already making plans to devote a significant portion of their time and energy to relief efforts. At this point we are seeking to reach out in any way we can to those who have been affected.
In this spirit, Landmark College will open its doors to students who have been displaced from programs in the affected areas by honoring any existing financial agreements with their affected institutions.
We must require that students have formal documentation of a learning disability, but otherwise we are committed to streamlining our admissions process in order to get students into classes as quickly as possible. We understand well the complexity of obtaining all the necessary records for transfer, but we are committed to making this process quick and flexible to accommodate each individual student's needs. Over the course of the fall we will work to acquire all necessary documentation as it becomes available.
Here in Vermont we are accustomed to extreme weather conditions and we take pride in our spirit of community involvement. We are eager to provide whatever support we can in the massive undertaking ahead for the affected region. As this effort takes shape, we would like to begin by opening our doors to students in need of a place to learn.
