For students who enter the college with the reading, writing, and critical thinking skills necessary to fully participate in college-level curriculum.
In the Credit curriculum, students enroll in two required courses: College Composition and Rhetoric in the English department and Perspectives in Learning in the First Year Studies department. These core courses address the learning needs of the college-level student. In addition to these required courses, students select two credit-level electives. All courses focus on skill development and content while encouraging students to explore strategies to address their unique learning needs.
About Assistive Technology
At Landmark we know that students with reading disorders and ADHD often benefit from learning and using assistive technology. In addition to coursework, credit students can work one-on-one with an Assistive Technology Specialist to learn technology strategies designed to make college-level reading and writing more manageable.
About Our Network of Support Services
The First Year Program at Landmark exposes students to the many support people on campus to help them face their learning challenges and to become more aware of themselves as learners. Students are encouraged to utilize the professional support offered through the Drake Center for Academic Support (DCAS), Coaching, Counseling, Advising, and office hours with professors. |
