Brown Bag Lunch Series: Overview of Learning Disabilities and Dyslexia
Learn about LD and dyslexia basics at this introductory session.
What are learning disabilities? Is dyslexia about seeing letters and words backwards? About confusing left and right? Linda Hecker, the Lead Education Specialist for the Landmark College Institute for Research and Training (LCIRT), will look at what causes dyslexia, how common it is, and how it affects learning and academic performance. We'll even experience dyslexia first hand! We'll also talk about how to support individuals with dyslexia and communicate effectively. All staff and faculty are welcome, along with members of the community.
Date: April 16, 2013
