Academic Speaker Series: The Struggle for Democracy in the Arab World
Join us as Mansour Farhang, author, commentator, and Bennington College professor of Middle Eastern Politics explores the struggles of democracy in the Arab world.
We are honored to welcome Mansour Farhang Ph.D., a current professor of Middle Eastern politics at Bennington College in Vermont, as part of the Fall 2013 Academic Speaker Series. As a human rights activist and a member of Vermont Council on the Humanities, Dr. Farhang will examine cultural obstacles to the struggle for democratic diversity in the Arab countries where popular rebellions led to the overthrow of autocratic rulers.
