Academic Speaker Series: Dan Miller: When Religion is Politics

Join us for an indepth conversation regarding social groups of global significance who define their political identities in explicitly religious terms.

Landmark College is proud to announce Dan Miller as part of the Spring Academic Speaker Series on February 10, 2014.  As a Landmark College professor of religion and philosophy, Miller plans to examine the emergence of a "political religion" throughout the world.  Providing numerous examples of this phenomenon, including global Islamism, Hindu nationalism, and the American Religious Right. This talk explores the significance of these movements for Western social and political thought and suggests how we need to reconsider our understanding of the social in light of them.

This presentation begins at 7:00 p.m. in the East Academic Building, Brooks O'Brien Auditorium on the Landmark College campus.  This event is free and open to the public.
