LCOG strives to enrich the lives of our students through community service projects to help the Putney community, Vermont and beyond.

The group organizes events, fundraisers and activities that help those in need, and in the process, builds leadership and civic responsibility into our student learning outcomes.

Hurricane Irene Relief

October 15, 2011: Students from the Landmark School in Beverly, MA stayed at the Gate House on the campus of Landmark College to join the Landmark Community Outreach Group in helping the local community's recovery efforts from Hurricane Irene. The students joined LCOG for service work in Brattleboro and Wilmington, VT. There were 14 students and 3 staff members from the Landmark School, along with 11 students and 1 staff member from Landmark College working at three Brattleboro, VT sites (a private residence on Frost St., Brattleboro Housing Authority's Melrose Terrace Retirement Community, and multiple private residences on Edgewood St.) in the morning, and then at the North Star Bowling Lanes in Wilmington, VT in the afternoon. Students were helping residents remove damaged insulation, moving mounds of mud and then helping dismantle the bowling lane's equipment in preparation for rebuilding.

The total hours of service for the day was 174.
