Prerequisites for SS2391: 1000-level SS class, EN 1011/1015, F.Y. Studies (or permission of instructor)

Goal: to use Leiden (a small, historically and culturally rich university town near Amsterdam) as a base for exploring contemporary Dutch culture and the field of Anthropology  

  • Live and study in a setting defined by picturesque
    canals,historical windmills and easy access to the
    North Sea 
  • Visit Amsterdam & the Hague; explore the Dutch countryside via train and bike
  • Collaborate on a group ethnography that explores Holland's unique approach to "the body"
