Humanities

Mission

The Humanities Department invites you to engage with the collective past of humanity by examining such subjects as history, art history, religion, philosophy, ethics, and cultural studies. Landmark courses in these fields trace the development of human societies. They analyze the ideas and cultural products created by those societies, and consider the impact that this collective past continues to have on today's world.  The Humanities are all about human story and about the key ideas which make us fully human.
