ABOUT LANDMARK COLLEGE > TECHNOLOGY ON CAMPUS > TECHNOLOGY INFRASTUCTURE
Technology Infrastuctures

Landmark College is committed to providing a sophisticated infrastructure to support access to the technology utilized in teaching and educating our students.

Wireless

Wireless access points allow students to use notebooks in most instructional, resource, and social areas. Students and faculty are able to take full advantage of technology in the classroom. Wireless access allows learning activities to naturally extend beyond the classroom, into the general campus environment.

Network

Landmark College maintains a Local Area Network in support of our Mission. This network provides tools for research, collaboration, and communication, as well as systems for supporting the day-to-day functioning of the College. Students and other users may access the Network using Windows 9x, Windows 2000, and Windows XP.

The key components of the network include: Netware File and Print services, Novell GroupWise for collaboration (such as email and calendars), and SBT PowerCampus — for maintaining academic data.

Network services run on a combination of Hewlett-Packard and Dell servers, on a fiber-optic backbone. The campus network is made up of Cisco FastEthernet switches, utilizing a layer-3 switch to interconnect the campus buildings.

College Internet service is provided by Adelphia Business Solutions, via a T1 line to Burlington, Vermont. The traffic is managed using an Allot NetEnforcer. Access into and out of Landmark College is controlled using a Cisco PIX firewall.

Computer Labs

There are several computer labs on campus. They provide access for students when they do not have access to their notebook. The Art Lab has sophisticated graphics programs, which are used for art classes and other learning-related activities. The Language and Communications Lab is equipped with Spanish language software.

Intranet Portal

Our intranet provides access to the various web applications used by the College. This includes WebCT courseware, bulletin boards, and our in-house Internet Student Information System (ISIS). Using the portal offers a personalized view of campus information.
